Beirut 10K for 10K
This November 7th, our team in Beirut will be participating in their own marathon event to raise money for the new Middle East Life Center!
Our team will be running a 10K (roughly about 6 miles) throughout downtown Beirut in hopes of raising at least 10K ($10,000US) for the Spring of Life Children Center which serves 100 kids a day starting this fall. That’s 40 more children than that 60 kids a day that were attending the school last year. The money raised will not only help fund the school for the year, but hopefully, we can purchase some computers and other much needed materials for Spring of Life.
The Springs of Life Center was founded in the Nabba, one of the poorest areas in Beirut. We shelter, educate, feed, and minister to needy, abandoned, or abused children. We believe that working with the Nabba children is extremely important since most of them are unable to attend school and are at risk of becoming delinquents and social outcasts. We provide programs of basic education and also help develop the children’s moral, spiritual and social skills so they can become healthy, responsible, and successful citizens. We also provide clothing and medical assistance whenever possible.
If you would like to get make a difference and sponsor a runner, please go to our donations page and select “Run4Beirut” under ministry designation.
Philippines- New Church Plant!
We just received news of a new church plant from our team in the Philippines. Our team reports that they have just launched a new church in the Muslim strong hold village of Litan. The response has been so overwhelming that they are already planning another church plant in a nearby village next month.
MFM Leader Johnny deVilla reports,
“The chief village captain in this area is a strong member of our church here. He asked the villagers to come every Sunday. Some were in standing position because the chuch is filled already and they don’t have enough chairs… by the way several members of the new church in Litan Village were Muslim. Even the chief captain who is now a believer was raised Muslim. Glory to God!”
Indeed, Glory to God!
Life Center Grand Opening
This month of March we were able to host the grand opening of the new Middle East Life Center in Beirut, Lebanon!
What a miracle! Just a year ago, the idea of this center was only a dream. Now it is a reality in the Middle East.
The last 3 weeks leading up to the opening were quite intense as we completed all the finishing touches and details to get the building operational. Sound systems and lighting had to be installed in the sanctuary, plumbing and electricity throughout the whole building had to be reconfigured. Everyday we had people from the neighborhood stopping by to see what all the commotion was about.
Our opening weekend coincided with our 3rd annual Kingdom Fiesta and Leadership Conference where international churches from all over Beirut, as well as leaders from the neighboring nations of Syria and Egypt, came to celebrate God’s grace and goodness. We had rappers and dramas presented from churches in Lebanon, traditional dances from churches from Sri Lanka & the Philippines as well a variety of other performances from Ghana, Nigeria, Ethiopia and Armenia .
On the final evening of Kingdom Fiesta we had over 1000 people in attendance. The place was packed out. So much so, that people were actually leaving because they could not find any place to sit or stand. It wasn’t just Christians that attended this event either. Each night we saw a least 5 different Muslim families scattered through the audience awaiting festivities. How amazing is that?
At the end of each event we had a short message and altar call for people to come receive the grace of Jesus Christ. Many raised their hands and came forward for prayer.
This is just the beginning of what is happening in the Middle East at the new Life Center and it is only because of your faithful prayers & generous giving that this life-giving ministry is possible! As we join our faith we can change our world!

Beirut Summer Camps!
All across America churches are planning or already in summer camp mode, and its no different for the Mutual Faith Team in the Middle East.
This year the team is planning 4 different camps throughout the summer for at-risk kids in Beirut, Lebanon. Many of these children would never have the opportunity to travel out of their small neighborhoods, much less, the big city.
Already, we’ve had 50 kids go to camp this summer with over 150 more scheduled to go. So far, the result has been nothing short of awesome. In addition to spending time at the camp grounds and down by the sea, they were taught about the love of Jesus! Many of these kids come from an environment where they will never get to hear this life changing message. What a blessing to sow into these kids as they go back and impact their own communities.
It is because of your prayers & partnership that this ministry is possible. However, the summer has just begun and needless to say, much help is needed! $50 will send a kid to summer camp, and if you would like to contribute, please visit our giving page and make a difference today! Just make sure to choose “Let’s Do Lunch- Beirut, Lebanon” under ministry designation.

Life Center Kids Party, Lebanon
The past few months there have been many parties going on for children at the Life Center in Beirut, Lebanon. Last month during Kingdom Fiesta, we hosted a party for the 60 kids who attend Springs of Life during the week just to let them know that Jesus loves them!
All the kids came out and had a blast! There were balloon animals and a magic trick show. The kids played limbo and musical chairs and each time the winner got a special prize. Heidi Hershey and the team even had a little beauty station for the girls where they could get their nails painted and also receive princess tiaras. The party ended with a huge cake with enough for all. Needless to say, the kids where blessed!
This month, the Middle East team hosted another party for the children who attend Harvest Kids Church on Sunday afternoons. Harvest Kids Church happens every Sunday for the children in the neighborhood who have no other place to go and learn about Jesus. Many of these kids come from Muslim families who are happy to send their children to a safe place to have fun.
Over 200 kids from the Neighborhood came out as they partied up in the main sanctuary of the Life Center! They sang songs and waved flags as they praised Jesus! There was a special presentation from a duo of clowns that had everyone in stitches including most of the parents that attended. At the end, every child in attendance received a small gift, just to let them know that they are loved.
This is just a small part of the life giving ministry that is taking place at the new Life Center each day in Beirut and it would not be possible without you! To see how you can get involved, visit our Lets Do Lunch page here.

Slave Rescue Update
Many of the twenty women that graduated from the Life Home program come from a background of Trokosi Slavery where they are often raped and abused through tribal sexual rituals. Through the restoration process at the Life Home, the woman are taught that they have value and purpose. In additional to Bible School curriculum, the woman are all taught at different trade so that they can enter the workforce and provide for themselves.
Below are some pictures from a Graduation this Past fall at the Mission Center in Agave, Ghana located in West Africa…

Reaching Teaching & Feeding in the Philippines
Reaching Teaching & Feeding Children in the Philippines!
Our leadership team in the Philippines has just completed a large outreach to the needy children of the community. Many of the kids came out to hear the music and song presented by our team and then they were all fed a hearty meal. Most of these children come from broken homes and some don’t even have a roof over their heads at night. It is our team’s desire to see these kids provided for and let know that Jesus loves them. Check out some of these pictures from the outreach:
Thanksgiving celebrations in the Philippines are already underway!
(originally Posted November 24, 2009)
As our team leader, Johnny DeVila reports:
“Greetings. We would like to say thanks for your prayers and love to the ministry here in the Philippines, where God does marvelous things… Ps. 98:1 Our 11th thanksgiving festival last Nov. 21-22, 2009 was successful, and came from our branches, affiliates, and tv viewers. The church was packed and overflowing with people. Our thanksgiving theme was billed as “RELEASING A FLOOD OF GOD’S LOVE.” The celebration was awesome. My grandson was also dedicated to the Lord during the celebration. God’s Word was delivered with strong revelation on His love and power. People were healed, delivered, and saved during the 2 days events. Glory to God! Please see attached photos.
Meanwhile, we would like to share with you our yearly feeding program to the street children in the city, billed as “CHRISTMAS IN THE STREET.” As you know, we are in great burden today because of the increase in number of the street children. You will see it everywhere in the street asking for alms. The very reason of the increase because of the poverty and the last two typhoons that destroyed their homes and family. These are homeless children. We are going to share to them the love of God, feed them and give them used clothing. This program is scheduled on December 15, 2009 at the downtown area of the city. Let’s join our faith in reaching these precious street children in the city for God’s glory and honor.
